Indeed, thanks to its new feature, TAG Heuer’s Connected Calibre E4 becomes more than a smartwatch – it turns into an NFT viewer for customers to showcase their digital asset collection, with verified proof of ownership, according to the company’s announcement on June 15. As per the announcement: Furthermore, the company highlighted that this move is “part of TAG Heuer’s expanding digital ecosystem of apps and watch faces, created by a team of in-house developers and bearing the brand’s trademark design signatures.”
What exactly does this feature do?
Specifically, the new feature facilitates the transfer of multiple NFTs to the new Lens watch face through a paired smartphone. The watch face can simultaneously display time and user-selected NFT artworks in three unique ways. It also includes “a conceptual design with a triangle and a circle representing hours and minutes.” Finally, the feature allows the watch to securely connect to various crypto wallets like Metamask or Ledger Live, and users can select which NFTs they want to display on their watch. The images can be resized to fit on the screen. It is worth noting that the recent move is just one step of the company’s venture into Web3 and the general incorporation of blockchain technology and NFTs. In mid-May, Finbold reported on TAG Heuer announcing the rollout of cryptocurrency payments for all online purchases on its United States website.
